Spam Marketing Under the Weststar Name
If you have come to our website because you received a cell phone call that carried the Weststar name as your call back number you have been the victim of a marketing scam; in fact we both have. From the helpful calls of several people we have learned that a company called Weststar Advertising has been conducting spam telemarketing campaigns using software to label the call as coming from one of our telephone numbers. We have no relationship with this company and we do not and never have engaged in any telemarketing work of any kind. We don’t believe in this type of marketing.
We have reported this problem to our local law enforcement authorities and to our telephone carrier. But at this point there is nothing further we can do to stop this aggravating disruption of your phone usage.
Here is what we do know if you’d like to follow this up further. Weststar Advertising has been representing a company called Infinity vacations and is using a contest approach to help it draw interest in the sale of vacation packages. Although they list our number on your display, if you return their call you will actually be forwarded to a series of different numbers, such as 888-523-9087. This is an automated line where you will hear an offer for a contest award, or something free. To obtain your freebie they may ask you to go to a reception at 1600 Corporate Court, suite 140, Irving, Texas 75038.
Other people have different stories about what this Weststar Advertising is doing and if you’d like to see their comments you can go to a complaint page from 800notes.com.
